Gap Semester and Gap Summer programs are open to graduated high school students, ages 18-21. All prospective Gap students are required to complete an online application. Our online application can be completed in a few basic steps. As students work through their application, they may save their progress and return to the application prior to final submission.
There is also an online application for Financial Aid. Our mission is to provide affordable educational opportunities to as many qualified applicants as possible. Financial assistance is awarded based on a combination of merit and need. In order to be considered for financial aid, students must submit a completed program application, followed by a financial aid application.

To complete an application:
- Fill out basic information
- Complete a Personal Statement (500-1000 words) and a short answer question
- Provide contact information for two References
- Pay a $50 application fee
- Submit supplementary materials
- Transcript and School Report
- Writing Sample
- Work Sample
Two References:2020欧洲杯网址APP One reference must be by a head figure such as teacher, guidance counselor, coach or manager. The second reference may be a character reference.
Transcript and School Report: Forms must include the school’s grading system and the most recent completed semester grades. Transcripts must be in English and do not need to be official. Report cards for the last two years are acceptable.
Resume: Students can submit a high school resume or work resume. Students are welcome to use this resume template.
Writing Sample: Students can submit any piece of writing that reflects their skill (e.g. research paper, course assignment, project proposals, article, etc.).
Work Sample: Students can submit any creative work piece (e.g. art work, photographs, portfolio, poetry, etc.)
*The online application portal will prompt students to submit supplementary materials after payment of the application fee. Applications will not be considered complete until all required supplementary materials have been received. Failure to submit required supplementary materials by the application deadline may result in rejection or declined admission.
2020欧洲杯网址APPOnce an application is fully submitted, the admissions committee will review. If the Admissions Committee decides that more information is needed, select applicants will be invited to interview over video-conference. Applicants can be admitted or rejected without interviewing.
All applications are carefully reviewed on a rolling basis by our admissions committee. The committee strives to select talented student leaders with diverse interests, ambitions and writing styles who will contribute to a well-rounded and academically engaging community of students. Each application is reviewed holistically and qualified students who have demonstrated both a genuine interest in Gap Year and a strong academic background will be considered for admission to the program.
Students will receive an admissions decision via the email address provided on their application within three to four weeks. Accepted students will be required to submit a nonrefundable deposit within three weeks of notification of their admissions decision.
The final deadline to be considered for financial aid is the February 10, 2020. Failure to submit all required materials by February 10, may result in a rejection or declined offer. New requests for financial aid received after this date will not be considered.

Housing: 2020欧洲杯网址APPHousing is included in the cost of tuition. Students will live in a shared dorm-like facility that is safe and houses diverse learners from all over New York City. The space is located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, conveniently located near our campus in Midtown Manhattan, and is operated by Education Housing Services, the leading non-profit provider for student housing in New York City.

Financial Aid is available to students who have been accepted into the program and have chosen to apply for Financial Aid. Students must submit a completed program application, followed by a Financial Aid application at the same deadline in which they are applying.
Financial Aid applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants are notified of their Financial Aid decision at the same time as their program admissions decision. Failure to submit all required materials and a complete program application may result in a rejection or declined offer.
*International families with income outside of the United States must provide an equivalent proof of income.
