Applications for Summer Academy 2020 Now Open.

Application Process

2020欧洲杯网址APPSummer Academy is open to high school students (grades 10-12 and Graduating Seniors based on the grade the student is entering in the Fall 2020 school year). Students must be 15 years old by the first day of the program. All students new to Summer Academy are required to complete an online application. Our online application can be completed in a few basic steps. As students work through their application, they may save their progress and return to the application prior to final submission.

    4. Complete short answer questions
    5. Pay a $50 application fee
    6. Submit supplementary materials

Transcript and School Report: Forms must include the school’s grading system and the most recent completed semester grades. Transcripts must be in English and do not need to be official. Report cards for the last two years are acceptable.

Reference: must be a teacher, guidance counselor, coach or school official.
Work/Writing Sample: Students can submit any piece of work as an optional supplement to their application (e.g. research paper, poetry, course assignment, artwork, proposals, etc.).

*The online application portal will prompt students to submit supplementary materials after payment of the application fee. Applications will not be considered complete until all required supplementary materials have been received. Failure to submit required supplementary materials by the application deadline may result in rejection or declined admission.

Financial Aid

2020欧洲杯网址APPOur mission is to provide affordable educational opportunities to as many qualified applicants as possible. All students are encouraged to apply for Financial Aid. Financial assistance is awarded based on a combination of need and merit. In order to be considered for Financial Aid, students must submit a completed program application, followed by a Financial Aid application. The application can be completed online in a few easy steps. to begin the 2020 Summer Academy Financial Aid application.

  2. Submit most recent two consecutive years of IRS tax forms
  3. Provide an optional statement describing any financial history or special circumstances

Financial Aid is available to students who have been accepted into the program and have chosen to apply for Financial Aid. Students must submit a completed program application2020欧洲杯网址APP, followed by a Financial Aid application at the same deadline in which they are applying.

Review Process
Financial Aid is awarded to students who have been accepted into the program and have chosen to apply for Financial Aid. Students are notified of their Financial Aid decision at the same time as their program admission decision. The final deadline to be considered for Financial Aid is the Regular Deadline, February 10, 2020, but we encourage students to apply at the earliest deadline possible. Failure to submit all required materials and a complete program application may result in a rejection or declined offer.

*International families with income outside of the United States must provide an equivalent proof of income.

Scholarships

We believe financial circumstances should not be a barrier to world-class, pre-collegiate education. The Diverse Voices Scholarship Fund aims to improve availability, access and equity of learning opportunities for historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students by offering full-tuition scholarships. Students interested in Summer Academy, Gap Year and August Writers’ Workshop are eligible to apply.

Returning Students

We are thrilled that you have decided to study with us again. Students who have previously attended a School of The New York Times program or course can submit a simplified application in a few basic steps. Application fees will be waived for returning students.

Application Timeline

All applications are carefully reviewed by our admissions committee. The committee strives to select talented student leaders with diverse interests, ambitions and writing styles who will contribute to a well-rounded, and academically engaging community of students. Each application is reviewed holistically and qualified students who have demonstrated both a genuine interest in Summer Academy and a strong academic background will be considered for admission to the program. Our goal is to accept as many qualified students as possible and to place them in courses that are a fit for their academic, personal and professional aspirations (given space availability).

2020欧洲杯网址APPStudents will receive an admissions decision via the email address provided on their application within four to six weeks after the deadline. Accepted students will be required to submit a nonrefundable deposit within two weeks of notification of their admissions decision. We encourage students to submit their applications as soon as possible to increase their chances of being placed in their preferred course.

Final Application Deadline: March 30, 2020
The application deadline is March 30, 2020. All applicants who submit a completed application by the final deadline will receive a notification within four to six weeks of deadline.
