2020欧洲杯网址APPExplore international journalism — its current reality and future impact — in an increasingly dynamic world and a rapidly changing media landscape.

2020欧洲杯网址APPThe world is an increasingly connected place. Traditional and social media provide a window into the daily lives of others, allowing us to build communities irrespective of borders and history. As we build our own communities, the global balance of power has shifted and governments fight for local, regional and global dominance.

The role of the foreign correspondent is perhaps more complex now than it has ever been. In the past, correspondents wrote exclusively for audiences back home, but that is no longer true in the age of the internet and social media. In this course, students will explore how media has adapted to this reality and how it affects correspondents who are on the ground.

Students will investigate how journalists cover foreign communities, events and issues as well as what they hope to achieve with the coverage. Participants will also consider how international journalism is evolving in response to a rapidly changing media landscape and what this means for news consumers as well as those who aspire to careers in the field.

Previous faculty for this course include David Gonzalez (award-winning journalist at The New York Times) and Clyde Haberman (The New York Times columnist and former foreign correspondent).
